The Internet is full of high resolution and high quality images, which can make any desktop look much better. If you wish to replicate these images or create your own unique art work, you would need professional drawing and editing applications and you would also need a few special skills. Flame Painter can make your work much easier with its unique and customizable brushes. It looks and feels just like a traditional paint application, but you can do much more with its advanced features.

Flame Painter is offered in Personal and Professional versions, which come with different capabilities and price tags. A free version is available as well, which you can either download and install on your computer or run directly on your web browser. The application can be installed fast and used on Windows or Mac OS X platforms.

The user interface has a familiar layout and easy to understand options. You can draw and edit in the central region of the window. Brushes and colors can be selected on the right side, where you can also create and manage layers. Once you select a brush, you can change its size, softness, and many other parameters, on the left side of the interface.

The available brushes will apply various settings and colors automatically, when selected. Brushes can be used in different ways, depending on what you intend to paint. Most of them will spin around the mouse cursor. Decreasing the brush's speed will give you more control and you will be able to paint slowly and steadily. Alternatively, you can increase the speed if you wish to draw something more chaotic and realistic, like actual flames.

You can change the size of the brush by dragging a slider, on the left side of the interface, but you can change its length as well, by moving the mouse cursor back and forth, as if you were spinning a lasso. A chaos setting is available as well, which you can increase if you wish to draw explosions or something similar.

The software places many more tools at your disposal, which you would expect to find on any professional drawing application. You can add, duplicate or merge layers, create vector layers, change blending modes and much more.

Pros

Flame Painter gives you access to high quality brushes. You can make numerous settings to individual brushes, change their blending modes and more.

Cons

You can't import images or save your work, while using the free version. Imagination is Flame Painter's only limit. It gives you the possibility of creating high quality art works with only a few brush strokes.
